University Learning Goals

St. �山ǿ�� has adopted universal learning goals applicable to every undergraduate and graduate program. Specific learning outcomes for each academic program, available at individual program websites, are based on these goals

Learning Goal 1: Broad and Discipline-Specific Learning

Objectives/indicators:

Demonstrate knowledge and competency in the core curriculum and one or more fields of study.
Move graduates along on their chosen career paths, so they can:
- Gain admission to graduate and professional degree programs
- Secure desired employment

Learning Goal 2: Reasoning and Inquiry

Objectives/indicators:

Determine the extent of information needed in a given situation.
Access the needed information.
Integrate, apply, analyze, synthesize, evaluate and use information:
- Qualitative
- Quantitative
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills.
Appreciate and pursue learning throughout life.

Learning Goal 3: Communication

Objectives/indicators:

Exhibit effective oral, written, non-verbal, and technological skills.

Demonstrate Franciscan values such as social action and sensitivity to diverse populations.
