Lee contributes to AMP special edition on Springsteen album

An article by Dr. Richard Lee, a professor in the Jandoli School, appeared in AMP: American Musical Perspectives, an academic journal published by Penn State University Press.
Lee’s article, “Nebraska Then and Now,” was part of a special issue of the journal devoted to Bruce Springsteen’s 1982 “Nebraska” album. In the article, Lee writes that the America described in “Nebraska” is much like today’s America.
He also suggests that hidden beneath the album’s themes of hopelessness and despair is a sense of resiliency that characterized America long before 1982 and continues today.
